A number of undergraduate students of the department of remote sensing and geographic information systems at the college of science have submitted a joint cooperation proposal with state departments and the educational institutions at the public and private sectors for the sake of marketing student projects to provide frameworks for school construction in Iraq which may vary with respect to activities and procedures, in accordance with the directives of the ministry of higher education and scientific research and under the slogan “University in the service of community”.

This joint project included the presentation of models for the completion of the construction of schools using GIS techniques by allocating a room to follow up the implementation of building 1000 schools via online maps and statistics based on population density with the direct supervision of the head of department, Assist. Prof. Dr. Sundus Abdul Abbas and faculty members to encourage college students to practically serve their country.
