The department of biology, in collaboration with the continuing education unit at the college of science has organized a workshop that lasted for two consecutive days on the “Predictions of the vital effectiveness of pharmacokinetics using some computer applications” in the presence of a number of students, professors and those concerned with medicines, biology, chemistry and computer simulation.

The lectures were delivered by the pharmacist specialist in pharmaceutical chemistry Sabah Jawad Saleh who reviewed some computer applications that use a computer simulation to depict a huge number of databases by the compilation of previous research results and turning them into search engines that help researchers in making quick comparisons of data in a short time regarding the molecular docking of research compounds on their receptors within the living body theoretically using (1-click docking) application to reach at the best theoretical findings that help the researcher in the design of his chemical compounds, so that to predict their possible therapeutic effectiveness in addition to reducing toxicity and side effects. Then Mr. Sabah Jawad gave an explanation of how to predict drug-likeness simulation applications with the best type of receptors in the living cells to illustrate the type of expected effectiveness and the extent to which it is used for the development of this compound, with a detailed practical training on drug efficacy simulation applications by the use of some Molinspiration software products.
