The department of chemistry, in collaboration with Ibn Sina E-learning and continuing education units at the college of science organized a workshop on “Laboratory chemical waste management and compatibility between materials” with the participation of professors and postgraduate students interested in radioactive materials.
The workshop was presented by Assist. Prof. Dr. Israa Mohammed, Lecturer Jalal Nasser and Lecturer Satar Abdullah with the aim to introduce different types of waste, mechanism of collection, general guidelines to deal with, quality of containers, the most safe places of storage and the importance of removing toxicity to reduce the risk of pollution and accidents.
The workshop was transmitted through Google Meet platform to train students on how to fill out the chemical safety form that enables workers to determine the appropriate ways to deal properly with chemicals to get rid of catastrophic errors in work place and taking all possible precautions in laboratories and the possibility of waste recycling.
