A number of graduate and postgraduate student from the department of petroleum engineering have participated in online courses organized by Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) in various topics related to oil engineering during the curfew imposed in Iraq due to the outbreak of the new Corona epidemic which forced them to stay at home and complete their studies through enrolling in electronic classes.

It is worth mentioning that SPE is a not-for-profit professional organization whose stated mission is “to collect, disseminate, and exchange technical knowledge concerning the exploration, development and production of oil and gas resources and related technologies for the public benefit; and to provide opportunities for professionals to enhance their technical and professional competence.
