The department of chemistry at Ibn al-Haitham college of education for pure and applied sciences organized a scientific symposium on “Cyberbullying and Social Engineering” delivered by the lecturer Najwa Abdul Moneim.
She introduced the concept of cyberbullying or cyber-extortion and cyber blackmail which have become widespread in our Arab societies in recent times, especially among young people in schools and universities. Such phenomena are a kind of exploitation of technology and internet to harm other people in a deliberate, repeated and hostile manner carried out by the bully electronically using modern devices connected, such as tablets in order to harm others materially, morally, socially and psychologically.
