The Biological Research Unit for Hot Zones at the college of science held a seminar on the “Common Respiratory Diseases” in the presence of a number of professors, graduate and postgraduate students and those interested with medical matters.

This event was chaired by Assist. Prof. Hanan Jawad Nayef who discussed pneumonia, its types, causes and viral diagnosis due to its animal origin, which has emerged in China and spread to countries around the world, causing a difficulty in breathing. Also she identified this virus that attacks the respiratory system and its transmission through direct contact with the infected through the spray that comes out during coughing and reaches the nose, mouth or even eyes, as well as contact with a surface contaminated with spray and lead to injury that resembles symptoms of cold, high temperature, headache, cough and muscle pain. At last, Prof. Hanan Jawad reviewed treatment and prevention methods and antibiotics that avoid side effects.
