On Sunday morning, August 9, 2020, the university presidency held a handover ceremony where Prof. Dr. Munir Hameed al-Saadi took over his duties as the rector of the University of Baghdad to succeed Dr. Imad Hussein Mirza Al-Husseini.
During his speech, Al-Saadi stressed that our university has a long history that must be preserved, stressing the need to combine all efforts to upgrade its position along with regional and international academic institutions.
For his part, the former university rector, Prof. Dr. Emad Al-Husseini wished his counterpart all success in his new position. It is worth mentioned that this event was attended by the Associate Rectors for scientific and administrative affairs, Prof. Dr. Abdul Kareem Al-Samarrai and Prof.Dr. Ahmed Waheed Nassir.
