Prof. Dr. Alaa Karim Mohammed, a professor from the department of biochemical engineering at Al-Khwarizmi college of engineering has participated recently in the 9th international scientific conference held in Malta under the slogan “Malta conference IX: Frontiers of Science: Research and Education”.
Dr. Alaa Karim presented a research paper entitled “Treatment of Wastewater Using Constructed Wetland Integrated with Microbial Fuel Cell (MFC)” in which he studied the treatment of wastewater using artificial water bodies supported by biofuel cells as well as wastewater resulted from oil refineries and dairy plants by 80% and the possibility of generating electric power with a capacity of 80 millivolts/m3 of treated water. It is noteworthy that the aim of this participation is to reflect the latest scientific developments in the field of wastewater treatment in the Middle East.
