The University of Baghdad represented by the college of agricultural engineering sciences has started its wide government project for tree planting adopted by the ministry of higher education and scientific research with the participation of several other Iraqi ministries.

This quest included planting a group of tree seedlings at the university campus under the supervision of the project manager Prof. Dr. Afaq Ibrahim Juma and director of the agricultural division at the university presidency Dr. Dunia Abdul Razaq Abbas.

Dr. Afaq Ibrahim stated that the first phase involved planting 100 seedlings equipped from the nursery of the college which are prepared jointly by professors, agricultural engineers and volunteer students from the department of desertification control.

It is noteworthy that this campaign will cover all Iraqi provinces in order to spread the green belt around our cities as well as its health and aesthetic value.
