Professor Dr. Raghad Abdul Razzaq Al-Hashimi, Assistant President of the University of Baghdad for Administrative Affairs and Acting Head of the University, conducted an inspection visit to the College of Agricultural Engineering Sciences at the Abu Ghraib campus. He was accompanied by the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Ameera Mohammed Saleh, the Administrative Assistant, several heads of academic departments, as well as a number of directors of administrative divisions from the University Presidency.

The purpose of the visit was to review the condition of the college buildings within the campus, which house the Departments of Soil Science, Plant Protection, and Animal Production. These facilities include classrooms, laboratories, fields, open spaces, animal barns, and research stations. The visit also covered the college’s dairy plant, its production lines, and marketing outlets that support students and the educational process.

During the tour, Dr. Al-Hashimi emphasized the University Presidency’s commitment to providing the necessary support for rehabilitating the campus in a manner consistent with the distinguished academic reputation of the College of Agricultural Engineering Sciences. He noted that this effort aims to create a comprehensive educational and research environment. The visit was conducted in accordance with the directive issued by the Council of Ministers regarding the gradual return of the college to its Abu Ghraib location.

Dr. Al-Hashimi explained that the rehabilitation works were carried out in phases. The first phase involved the renovation of the Soil Science Department building and its surrounding facilities. The second phase includes the rehabilitation of the animal field buildings, classrooms, and laboratories belonging to the Departments of Animal Production and Plant Protection, in preparation for the full restoration of the college and its facilities to full operational capacity.

This initiative contributes to achieving several Sustainable Development Goals, notably Goal 4 (Quality Education), Goal 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), and Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
