President of University of Baghdad Chairs Expanded Meeting to Follow Up on University's Lands in Al-Amiriya and the Al-Ikhwa Residential Complex

The President of the University of Baghdad, Professor Dr. Alaa Abdul-Hassan Al-Zughaibi, chaired an expanded meeting at the university presidency, dedicated to following up on the file of the Al-Ikhwa Residential Complex and discussing a number of issues related to the university’s lands in the Al-Amiriya area. The meeting was attended by the Director General of the Administrative and Financial Department at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Professor Dr. Asaad Ghani Jihad; the Director General of the Reconstruction and Projects Department, Professor Dr. Abbas Al-Amiri; the Director of the Government Contracts Department at the Ministry’s headquarters, Dr. Ammar Tuama; the Assistant President of the University for Administrative Affairs, Professor Dr. Raghad Abdul Razzaq Al-Hashimi; the Dean of the College of Languages; and a number of directors of the relevant departments at the university presidency.

The meeting discussed the administrative and technical aspects related to the Al-Ikhwa Residential Complex, as well as the mechanisms for following up on its related procedures in coordination with the specialized departments at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, in addition to reviewing the files pertaining to the lands belonging to the University of Baghdad in the Al-Amiriya area.

The President of the University of Baghdad affirmed the importance of following up on this file in a manner that preserves the rights of the university and its staff, and of working to complete the related procedures in accordance with the approved legal and administrative frameworks, emphasizing the importance of coordination and integration between the parent university and the relevant authorities at the Ministry in addressing and following up on related files.

This meeting contributes to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, namely Goal 11, which calls for sustainable cities and communities, as well as Goal 17, concerning partnerships for achieving the goals.
