The University of Baghdad hosted the festival honoring the winners of student activities in Iraqi universities, organized by the Student Activities Department of the Scientific Supervision and Evaluation Apparatus at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. The event was held at the Al-Salam Theater in the College of Media at the University of Baghdad, with the participation of Iraqi universities and the attendance of a select group of officials from the Ministry and universities, along with professors and students.
Professor Dr. Salah Hadi Saleh, Head of the Scientific Supervision and Evaluation Apparatus, delivered a speech in which he affirmed the interest of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in student activities and its keenness to provide a university environment supportive of youth talents and energies, praising the efforts made by Iraqi universities and their students in active participation and achieving accomplishments in various events and competitions.
The President of the University of Baghdad, Professor Dr. Alaa Abdul-Hassan Al-Zughaibi, also delivered a speech in which he welcomed the participants in the festival, expressing his pride in the distinguished energies and talents that students of Iraqi universities demonstrate in various fields, and affirming that student activities represent an important aspect of university life, given their role in developing students’ personalities, honing their skills, and strengthening their confidence in their abilities.
The festival included honoring the winning teams from Iraqi universities, in recognition of the outstanding results they achieved through their participation in various student activities and events, amid a festive atmosphere that reflected the spirit of competition and creativity enjoyed by students of Iraqi universities.
This activity contributes to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, namely Goal 4, which calls for quality education, as well as Goal 17, concerning partnerships for achieving the goals.
