As part of its openness to international partnerships and the expansion of scientific collaboration, the University of Baghdad welcomed a delegation from the French Center for the Near East. The meeting was attended by Professor Dr. Suhail Najm Abdullah, Assistant President of the University for Scientific Affairs; Professor Dr. Ali Abdul Amir, Dean of the College of Arts; Professor Dr. Laith Majid Hussein, Director of the Center for the Revival of Arab Scientific Heritage; and Dr. Mahmoud Al-Qaisi.
During the meeting, discussions were held on ways to enhance scientific and cultural cooperation between the university and French academic institutions, particularly regarding student exchange, visiting professor programs, and joint research projects.
The meeting also emphasized support for students wishing to pursue their studies at French universities and the creation of a supportive educational environment through the development of joint academic programs and the facilitation of academic procedures.
The discussions also included the official invitation extended by the university to the French Center’s delegation to attend the upcoming Assyriology Conference, as well as the possibility of hosting visiting professors at the College of Arts, especially in the fields of psychology, sociology, and other humanities disciplines.
This visit is part of a series of meetings that enhance the University of Baghdad’s presence in international academic forums and reinforce its commitment to the internationalization of education and scientific research.
This activity achieves two Sustainable Development Goals: Goal 4, which calls for quality education, and Goal 17, which promotes partnerships to achieve the goals
