The Higher Institute for Leadership Development, in coordination with the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers and several relevant institutions, organized a specialized workshop titled “The Role of Decision-Makers in Energy and Environmental Sustainability (ISO 14001 – ISO 50001),” held from August 31 to September 1, 2025, at the Institute’s headquarters in Baghdad.
The workshop was attended by Professor Dr. Raghad Abdul Razzaq Al-Hashimi, Assistant President of the University of Baghdad for Administrative Affairs, alongside representatives from various ministries and governmental institutions, as well as experts in the fields of energy and environment.
The workshop addressed the importance of international standards in energy and environmental management and explored methods for their implementation within government institutions to enhance resource efficiency, reduce environmental impact, and achieve sustainability.
This event is part of the broader framework of cooperation among government entities aimed at preparing national leadership and activating sound environmental policies, with emphasis on the role of universities—foremost among them the University of Baghdad—as active partners in this national initiative.
This activity contributes to several Sustainable Development Goals, including Goal 7 for clean and affordable energy, Goal 12 for responsible production and consumption, Goal 13 for climate action, and Goal 17 for partnerships to achieve the goals.
