As part of its commitment to social responsibility, the University of Baghdad has launched a special service initiative to transport visitors of the Arbaeen of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) to the holy city of Karbala. The initiative was implemented by the Transportation Division of the University’s Administrative Affairs Department, which deployed a number of modern buses to provide free transportation for pilgrims, facilitating citizens’ participation in commemorating this occasion.

This step embodies the humanitarian and national values upheld by the University and reflects its continued support for volunteer initiatives that serve the community, particularly during occasions that require joint efforts from both official and popular sectors.

The University Presidency affirmed that the initiative extends the University of Baghdad’s role in engaging with societal issues, promoting a culture of public service, and honoring the memory of the martyrdom of Imam Hussein and his brother Abu al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon them), who hold a profound symbolic significance in the Iraqi conscience.
