Prof.Dr. Fatima Abdul-Maleh, Dean of the College of Physical Education and Sport Sciences for Women, University of Baghdad, Participates in the First Meeting of the Committee for Preparing the National Strategy for Developing Iraqi Sports
Prof.Dr. Fatima Abdul-Maleh, Dean of the College of Physical Education and Sport Sciences for Women at the University of Baghdad, participated in the first meeting of the Committee for Preparing the National Strategy for Developing Iraqi Sports. The meeting was chaired by His Excellency, Minister of Youth and Sports Dr. Ahmed Al-Mubraq, at the headquarter of the Ministry, with the attendance of several prominent academic and sports figures.
The meeting discussed the main themes upon which the national strategy will be based.During the meeting, several recommendations were made, including unifying efforts to ensure the effective implementation of the strategy, forming specialized sub-committees for each theme, and setting clear timeframes for completing the required tasks.
At the end of the meeting, Minister Al-Mubraq emphasized the importance of expediting the preparation of the preliminary report of the strategy and submitting it to the Council of Ministers. He also pointed out that the Ministry would provide all the necessary resources to support the implementation of the plan, aiming to restore Iraq’s position as a leader in sports both locally and internationally.
This participation contributes to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly: Goal 4: Quality Education, and Goal 17: Partnerships for the Goals.
