As part of efforts to strengthen national academic partnerships and open prospects for knowledge integration among universities, the College of Nursing at the University of Baghdad concluded a memorandum of joint scientific and research cooperation with the Technical College of Health and Medicine in Sheikhan, affiliated with Duhok Technical University.
The signing ceremony took place at the headquarters of the College of Nursing’s Dean’s Office. The memorandum was signed on behalf of the College of Nursing by its Dean, Prof. Dr. Wissam Jabbar Qasim, and on behalf of the Technical College of Health and Medicine by its Dean, Dr. Bezaf Naji Rasheed, in the presence of the Assistant Deans, heads of academic departments, and a number of faculty members.
The memorandum outlines a long-term strategic partnership that goes beyond traditional coordination to establish an integrated working framework. This framework is based on carrying out joint research and applied projects that address pressing health priorities, and on exchanging teaching expertise and specialized staff. It also opens broad prospects for making use of the advanced infrastructure and laboratories of both parties, developing curricula in line with international academic accreditation standards, and coordinating joint training and applied programs for undergraduate and postgraduate students, in addition to organizing conferences, seminars, and workshops, with positive effects on the national health system.
This partnership is consistent with the Sustainable Development Goals, foremost among them Goal Three (good health and well-being), through contributing to improving the quality of medical care; Goal Four (quality education), through raising academic standards and clinical training; and Goal Seventeen (partnerships for the goals), to strengthen integration and cooperation among university institutions across the country.
