The University of Baghdad, represented by the College of Arts, participated in the national workshop dedicated to launching the first specialized professional higher diploma program in Migration Management and Sustainable Solutions. The event was held under the patronage of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and with the direct guidance of His Excellency Minister Dr. Naim Al-Aboudi.

The university’s participation was overseen and led by Prof.Dr. Ali Abdul Ameer Sajet, Dean of the College of Arts, and attended by a select group of academics and experts. This program is the first of its kind among Iraqi universities. It aims to equip students with both theoretical knowledge and practical applications for understanding migration issues in Iraq, with an emphasis on field research and building partnerships with local and international entities.

The university’s involvement reaffirms its commitment to its academic and societal mission by offering quality programs that respond to developmental challenges and support the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 4 (Quality Education) and Goal 10 (Reduced Inequalities).
