The College of Islamic Sciences at the University of Baghdad participated in the 16th Scientific Forum organized by the “Areed” platform for Arab researchers. The college was represented by Prof.Dr. Abdul Hadi Mahmoud Al-Zaidi, who presented a distinguished scientific paper entitled “Investing Endowment Funds for Media Development.” The participation was conducted virtually due to the inability to travel to the forum’s venue.

The paper highlighted the potential of directing endowment funds toward supporting credible media institutions and sponsoring media professionals committed to a moral and religious mission. It also proposed the establishment of digital platforms and websites aimed at promoting a moderate Islamic discourse.

Prof.Dr. Al-Zaidi offered a contemporary jurisprudential perspective emphasizing that endowments should not be confined to traditional projects. Instead, they can serve as a vital resource for advancing the Islamic media system in a way that aligns with modern developments and supports the objectives of Sharia in reform and revival.

This participation contributes to achieving two Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): Goal 4 Quality Education, and Goal 17 Partnerships for the Goals.
