The developmental summer school, in which 13 faculty members from the Department of Russian Language at the College of Languages, University of Baghdad, took part, has concluded. The program was organized by Chechen State Pedagogical University in the Russian Federation, running from August 26 to September 3, under the cooperation agreement between the University of Baghdad and Chechen State Pedagogical University.
The course, held under the theme “Methodology and Pedagogy of Languages: Russian as a Foreign Language,” featured an intensive program combining theoretical topics with advanced practical applications. It focused on the latest methods and approaches for teaching Russian as a foreign language and on developing educational curricula for university students, in addition to introducing a new module on the use of artificial intelligence applications in language teaching, as well as examining the influence of cultural factors, customs, and traditions on the language acquisition process.
The summer school activities were supervised by a select group of professors specializing in teaching Russian from various Russian universities, with the aim of refining teaching skills and enhancing the exchange of academic expertise between educational institutions in both countries.
At the conclusion of the course, a ceremony was held to distribute certificates of appreciation to the participants. Ms. Aftaeva Tamara Andreevna, Assistant to the University President for Scientific and International Affairs, delivered a speech on behalf of the President of Chechen State Pedagogical University, in which he expressed his deep admiration for Iraq’s historical and civilizational contributions, affirming the promising prospects for future cooperation with the University of Baghdad.
This activity fulfills the Sustainable Development Goals, namely Goal 4 (Quality Education) and Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
