Amid the wealth of distinguished academic contributions offered by the faculty of the University of Baghdad, the intellectual and cultural community witnessed the publication of a joint scholarly and encyclopedic work titled “Beyond Duality: Critical Theory from Plato to Artificial Intelligence,” authored by Assistant Professor Asma Makram Al-Sadoun, a faculty member at the Ibn Rushd College of Education for Humanities, in collaboration with Assistant Professor Dr. Dhifaf Ibrahim Al-Shuwaili, a faculty member at the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences for Women at the University of Baghdad, who served as the book’s first author.
The work was published in Baghdad by the renowned publishing house DULER (First Edition, 2026). It seeks to unlock the complexities of critical theory and dismantle its conceptual difficulties, which have long posed a challenge to undergraduate and graduate students, transforming them into accessible and clearly defined lines of inquiry. The book comprises 292 comprehensively structured pages, in which the authors trace, with great precision, the lineage of human critical thought throughout history.
This activity fulfills the Sustainable Development Goals, namely Goal 4 (Quality Education) and Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
