The University of Baghdad welcomed a ministerial delegation from the Supervision and Scientific Evaluation Authority of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. The delegation included Dr. Khaled Shanawa, Head of the Quality Assurance Directorate, Dr. Aseel Hadi Mahmoud, Director of the Quality Assurance Department, and several specialized committee members. They were accompanied by Mr. Omar Faez Hussein, Director of the Quality Assurance and Academic Performance Department at the University of Baghdad, and Dr. Lama Hassan Alwan, Head of the Accreditation Division.

The delegation was received by the Vice President for Scientific Affairs, Prof.Dr. Suhail Najm Abdullah. During the meeting, a comprehensive discussion was held regarding the procedures implemented for the establishment of the Colleges of Excellence and Artificial Intelligence, with particular focus on the application of quality assurance and academic accreditation standards, curriculum description, and finalizing the coding procedures.

The ministerial team also conducted a field visit to the construction site, accompanied by Mr. Hassan Haidar Kamona, Assistant Director of the Reconstruction and Projects Department at the University. The team reviewed the progress rates and discussed several technical and implementation observations in line with quality requirements and ISO standards. This visit reflects the University of Baghdad’s ongoing efforts to foster a modern educational environment aligned with global developments in quality assurance and artificial intelligence.

The visit contributes to several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including Goal 4: Quality Education, Goal 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities, and Goal 17: Partnerships for the Goals.
