The Higher Institute for Accounting and Financial Studies at the University of Baghdad organized a campaign titled “Civil Defense Training Campaign”, under the supervision of the Dean of the Institute, Assist.Prof.Dr. Ali Muhammad Thajeel Al-Mamouri, a certified public accountant. The campaign was managed by Assistant Lecturer Nawfal Ghazi Zughair, and the sessions were conducted by Engineer Kazem Jawad Kazem, Engineer Muayyad Mohsen Muhammad, Mr. Saad Mahmoud Alwan, and Mr. Hamza Khalaf Muhammad from the Military Industrialization Authority General Company for Military Industries Al-Rabee Factory, with the participation of a number of faculty members and postgraduate students.
The campaign covered four key topics: Civil Defense its definition, objectives, tasks, and types of risks. Fire Safety common causes of fires, prevention methods, classification and types of fire extinguishers. Evacuation and Emergencies how to act upon hearing a fire alarm, evacuation plans, safe escape routes, and managing internal emergency teams. First Aid dealing with burns, fractures, choking, and fainting. The campaign also included a live demonstration of fire extinguishing using fire extinguishers and a mock evacuation drill simulating an emergency.
These activities are categorized under environmental and sustainability goals, contributing to Goal 3: ensuring healthy lives and promoting well-being for all at all ages.
