The President of the University of Baghdad, Prof.Dr. Bahaa Ibraheem Ansaf, received Ali Hassan Lafta, the Deputy Mayor of Baghdad for Technical Affairs, during an official visit to the university. The meeting was attended by the university’s Vice Presidents for Scientific and Administrative Affairs, the Director General of the Administrative and Financial Department, and the Director General of the Reconstruction and Projects Department at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
The meeting included discussions on frameworks for joint cooperation between the Baghdad Municipality and the University of Baghdad in the fields of infrastructure and urban planning for university projects, with the aim of enhancing the educational and service environment on campus.
The field visit also included an inspection of the progress of two key projects: the College of Artificial Intelligence and the College of Excellence. The delegation reviewed the completion rates and the implementation mechanisms being followed, as part of the university’s ambitious plan for academic expansion and keeping pace with modern technological developments.
The President of the University emphasized that this visit reflects institutional interest from government bodies in supporting higher education institutions, and in unifying efforts to create a comprehensive university environment that aligns with international standards and serves the future of students and academics.
This activity supports two Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): Goal 4: Quality Education and Goal 17: Partnerships for the Goals.
