Prof.Dr. Ammar Tahir Mohammed, Dean of the College of Mass Communication at the University of Baghdad, received Mr. Hassan Khawam, the official spokesperson of the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, to discuss mechanisms for enhancing mutual cooperation between the College and the Ministry.
During the meeting, they discussed ways to organize joint workshops and educational seminars aimed at developing students’ skills and bridging the gap between academic study and practical application. These efforts aim to prepare young media professionals to meet the requirements of the Iraqi labor market and to support joint developmental initiatives.
Dr. Ammar emphasized “the importance of opening channels of cooperation with various state institutions, particularly the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, to support development plans and strengthen the media’s role in raising public awareness on labor and employment issues.”
In turn, Mr. Hassan Khawam praised the College of Media for its pioneering role in preparing skilled media professionals. He also affirmed the Ministry’s readiness to support joint efforts and implement training programs that serve the College’s students and enhance their practical and professional capabilities.
This meeting aligns with the College of Media’s policy of expanding partnerships with state institutions to improve training opportunities and promote active participation in national initiatives aimed at building a knowledge-based and advanced developmental society.
The meeting supports the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals, specifically Goal 4, which calls for quality education, and Goal 17, which emphasizes partnerships to achieve the goals.
