The Dean of the College of Medicine at the University of Baghdad, Professor Dr. Amin Abdul Hassan Mani’ Al-Alwani, received Iraqi physician Dr. Mohammed Taher, who has been working in Gaza during the recent conflict. The visit included an in-depth discussion on key aspects of promoting medical ethics in professional practice.

Dean Al-Alwani praised Dr. Taher’s role in upholding humanistic values in the medical field, emphasizing the importance of instilling these principles in students from the early stages of their education, as they are essential to shaping a physician who is both scientifically proficient and ethically grounded.

In turn, Dr. Mohammed Taher expressed his appreciation for the college’s efforts in fostering ethical and professional values, commending its commitment to reinforcing the moral dimension of medicine alongside academic excellence—an approach that contributes to preparing physicians who embody compassion and a strong sense of social responsibility.

This visit aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), specifically Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-Being) and Goal 4 (Quality Education).
