Professor Abdulrahman Fartous Haidar, a faculty member at the College of Arts, University of Baghdad, specializing in Mongolian history, participated in the international conference titled “Regions and States at the Crossroads of a New World Order” held in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. His participation included presenting a research paper entitled “Mongolia: Between the Historical Heritage and the Challenges of the New World”.
The research aimed to highlight Mongolia’s position within the global historical context, examining the Mongol historical legacy and its role in shaping the national identity of modern Mongolia. It also focused on key political and economic challenges facing Mongolia amidst international transformations and the emergence of a new world order.
The study concluded with a set of findings and recommendations, the most notable of which emphasized that Mongolia’s rich historical heritage could play a significant role in strengthening its global presence, serving as an essential pillar in developing its soft power strategy.
This academic participation represents a valuable addition to the scholarly contributions of the College of Arts, reflecting its faculty members’ commitment to engaging in global academic discussions and promoting intellectual exchange.
Furthermore, the research supports the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 4, which advocates for quality education, and Goal 17, which encourages international partnerships to achieve strategic objectives.
