Baghdad University welcomed an academic delegation from Sharif University of Technology in Iran. The delegation included Professor Dr. Bahaa Ibraheem Ansaf, President of Baghdad University, Professor Dr. Suhail Najm Abdullah, the scientific assistant, several department heads, assistant deans, and a university advisory team. During the visit, agreements were made on the work plan for the coming months, including implementation phases and necessary legislative frameworks.
The visit aimed to conduct a strategic analysis and formulate regulations for the establishment of the Science and Technology Park at Baghdad University, ensuring alignment with existing laws and regulations governing such parks.
Discussions included a SWOT analysis, assessing strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and challenges related to the park’s creation, reviewing relevant policies and legislation, identifying key challenges and initial opportunities, and outlining a model for the park that aligns with Baghdad University’s institutional framework.
The President of Baghdad University emphasized that this initiative represents a strategic step in enhancing the academic and research environment. He highlighted the importance of collaboration with Sharif University of Technology in developing a roadmap for the park’s establishment and noted that the university would actively encourage professors and students to engage in this project.
This visit contributes to several Sustainable Development Goals, including Goal 4: Quality Education, Goal 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities, Goal 15: Life on Land, and Goal 17: Partnerships for the Goals.
