Professor Dr. Sarmad Hashem Al-Khatib, Dean of the College of Pharmacy, participated as a keynote speaker in the 5th International Pharmaceutical Sciences Conference (IPSC 2025), organized by Eastern Mediterranean University in Northern Cyprus.

During the conference, Dr. Al-Khatib delivered a lecture titled “Primary Cilium as a Dynamic and Diverse Signaling Hub.” His presentation explored recent scientific advancements in understanding the formation, function, and signaling pathways of cilia in cells. He also discussed the challenges researchers face in this field and the potential applications of this knowledge in treating related diseases.

The dean’s participation in this conference reaffirms the college’s commitment to fostering international academic collaboration and contributing to the advancement of pharmaceutical sciences research. It also reflects the college’s dedication to keeping pace with the latest scientific developments and exchanging expertise with global academic and research institutions.

This participation aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 4 (Quality Education) and Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
