The College of Medicine at the University of Baghdad has launched several awareness and environmental campaigns aimed at educating students and university staff about the harmful effects of electronic cigarettes and the negative influence of social media on health and academic performance.

These campaigns included posters and informational brochures highlighting the health risks associated with e-cigarettes, as well as raising awareness about the adverse effects of excessive social media use on students’ academic achievements and social relationships. The initiative seeks to promote preventive awareness and encourage positive behaviors within the university environment.

In addition, a team from the University of Baghdad contributed to an environmental campaign, which involved cleaning gardens and planting green spaces within the college—an effort aimed at improving the university’s environment and reinforcing a sense of social responsibility. These initiatives align with the college’s vision of creating a conscious, healthy, and sustainable learning environment.

This effort supports Sustainable Development Goal 3, which advocates for ensuring healthy lives and promoting well-being for all ages.
