Baghdad University held an extensive virtual workshop titled “Science and Technology Park,” attended by University President Professor Dr. Bahaa Ibrahim Ensaf, Scientific Assistant to the President Professor Dr. Suhail Najm Abdullah, representatives from colleges, institutes, and research centers, and more than 70 academics.
The university president opened the workshop with a speech outlining the university’s vision for establishing the Science and Technology Park as a strategic platform to nurture innovative ideas and entrepreneurial projects. He emphasized the importance of fostering interdisciplinary collaboration between humanities and science faculties to create a university environment that encourages innovation.
The scientific assistant provided a detailed presentation on proposed implementation steps for the park’s establishment, stressing the significance of supporting academic talent and ensuring the availability of resources to transform research ideas into viable products, in collaboration with Iran’s Sharif University of Technology.
Additionally, Dr. Ali Al-Tamimi reviewed the phases of developing the park, from infrastructure planning to project adoption mechanisms, highlighting the importance of involving colleges, institutes, and research centers in this national initiative.
This initiative contributes to several Sustainable Development Goals, including Goal 4 (Quality Education), Goal 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), Goal 15 (Life on Land), and Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
