Baghdad University welcomed a high-level delegation from the Scientific Research Authority, headed by its president, Professor Dr. Shafeeq Shaker Al-Moula. The meeting, attended by Baghdad University President Professor Dr. Bahaa Ibrahim Ensaf, the Scientific Assistant to the President, and several college deans, aimed to strengthen scientific and research collaboration.
Discussions focused on drafting a memorandum of cooperation between the authority and the university, with an agreement to form a joint committee to study research projects that serve society and align with Sustainable Development Goals. Additionally, a summer training program for students was proposed under the joint supervision of both institutions to enhance students’ practical skills.
Participants emphasized the need to develop the legislative and executive framework for these initiatives, highlighting the importance of engaging Iraqi academic talents from Baghdad University and the Scientific Research Authority. They also stressed the value of leveraging regional and international experiences to align with governmental strategies for advancing scientific research and sustainable development.
This partnership supports Sustainable Development Goal 4, promoting quality education, as well as Goal 17, which advocates for partnerships to achieve development objectives.
