The “Binaa Al-Amal” volunteer team from the College of Media at the University of Baghdad has launched a humanitarian campaign titled “Aoun”, aimed at distributing food supplies and essential necessities to underprivileged families in the Iskan area of Baghdad Province. This initiative embodies the spirit of solidarity and social responsibility among the college’s students.

The campaign was inspired by the team’s deep commitment to community service and the values of humanity and mutual support. A number of students actively participated in collecting aid and personally delivering it to families in need.

Professor Dr. Ammar Taher Mohammed, Dean of the College, praised the initiative, commending the students’ efforts and their representation of the college in the best possible manner. He affirmed, “Such campaigns reflect the true essence of the university as both an academic and humanitarian institution.”

Dr. Rana Al-Shujairi, the team supervisor, expressed great pride in the students’ generosity, emphasizing “their enthusiasm and compassion as the key driving forces behind the success of the campaign.”

The “Aoun” campaign is one of the volunteer initiatives that aims to promote a culture of giving and social solidarity, encouraging the academic community to engage with social and humanitarian causes.

This community-driven activity aligns with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 1, which seeks to eradicate poverty in all its forms, and SDG 2, which advocates for ending hunger, achieving food security, and promoting sustainable agriculture. Additionally, it supports SDG 17, which focuses on building partnerships to achieve global goals through collaboration between students and the local community to drive positive change.
