The Presidency of the University of Baghdad received a delegation from the Independent High Electoral Commission of Iraq, as part of the ongoing cooperation between government institutions, for the purpose of updating the biometric data of the university’s administrative staff.
During the visit, the Commission’s team began its work at the university headquarters, where a designated site was set up to receive employees and carry out the update procedures in accordance with the approved regulations. This included fingerprinting, taking personal photographs, and verifying biographical data.
This initiative is part of national efforts to update the voter registry, enhance the accuracy of electoral data, and ensure broad and effective participation in upcoming electoral events.
The University Presidency expressed its gratitude and appreciation for the Commission’s cooperation, affirming its full support for all national initiatives that strengthen the democratic process in Iraq.
This activity contributes to the achievement of two Sustainable Development Goals: Goal 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions) and Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
