The College of Mass Communication at the University of Baghdad organized an extensive tree-planting campaign within the college gardens, in response to the national tree-planting initiative. This effort supports sustainable development and promotes green spaces within the campus.
The campaign was supervised directly by the Dean of the College, Prof.Dr. Ammar Taher Muhammad, with the participation of faculty and students from the Radio and Television Department. The event saw the planting of numerous trees and plants that contribute to improving the university environment and enhancing its aesthetic appeal, which in turn fosters a better atmosphere for learning and creativity.
Prof.Dr. Ammar emphasized that this initiative is part of the college’s efforts to raise environmental awareness among students. He highlighted the importance of tree planting in reducing pollution, improving air quality, and creating a more comfortable and attractive university environment.
The participating students expressed their joy in contributing to this campaign, affirming that such collective efforts strengthen their sense of social responsibility and promote a culture of environmental care and preservation of green spaces.
It is worth noting that the College of Mass Communication is committed to organizing events and activities that promote environmental and developmental values, aligning with the Sustainable Development Goals and Iraq’s vision for improving the environmental conditions of cities and urban areas.
This campaign aligns with Goal 13 of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, which emphasizes the importance of agriculture in addressing climate change.
