The College of Physical Education and Sport Sciences at the University of Baghdad has concluded the Fourth International Scientific Conference on Sports Science and Technology for Sustainable Development activities. The closing session was chaired by the College dean, Professor Dr. Sabah Qasim Khalaf, and a distinguished group of researchers, academics, and experts from Iraq and abroad participated.

The three-day conference featured the presentation of research papers and scientific discussions addressing the latest advancements in the fields of sports science and sports technology, and their role in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals. Participants also examined the current challenges facing the sports sector and explored ways to enhance academic and practical performance in sports fields, emphasizing the utilization of scientific research outcomes and the strengthening of international cooperation to advance the sports sector in support of community development.

In his speech, the Dean expressed his gratitude and appreciation to all those who contributed to the success of the conference, including faculty members, staff, and students, highlighting their teamwork and shared commitment to elevating the college’s reputation. During the closing ceremony, committee heads and supervisors were honored with commemorative plaques, and certificates of participation were awarded to all working committee members.

Participants, in turn, extended their thanks and appreciation to the organizing body for their warm hospitality and excellent organization, affirming the importance of continuing such conferences to reinforce the status of scientific research.

This conference contributes to several Sustainable Development Goals, including Goal 3: Ensuring healthy lives and promoting well-being for all at all ages through responsive programs and activities that enhance public health and sports; Goal 4: Quality education, by developing the skills and capacities of faculty in publishing scientific research; and Goal 17: Partnerships for the Goals, by supporting academic activities from the university and its formations to implement the Sustainable Development Goals.
