The University of Baghdad’s Council held its eighteenth open session, presided over by the President of the University, Professor Dr. Baha Ibraeeim Ansaf, in the presence of council members, including deans of colleges and institutes affiliated with the university.
The President of the University commenced the session by congratulating Al-Khwarizmi College of Engineering on the inclusion of its scientific journal in the global Scopus database. He emphasized that this achievement marks a significant step towards strengthening the university’s position on the international scientific research map, reflecting the college’s persistent efforts in elevating the standard of academic research and the quality of scientific publications.
Furthermore, the President urged all deans to monitor the scientific journals published by their respective colleges and institutes, calling for dedicated efforts to enter global indices and improve the ranking of previously listed journals, as this positively impacts the university’s academic ranking and scientific reputation.
Subsequently, the council proceeded to discuss the topics listed on the session’s agenda, which encompassed several academic and administrative aspects aimed at enhancing the university’s educational and research processes.
This activity aligns with two Sustainable Development Goals: Goal 4, which advocates for quality education, and Goal 17, which promotes partnerships to achieve objectives.
