The Al-Khwarizmi College of Engineering at the University of Baghdad held a distinguished ceremony to honor the editorial team of Al-Khwarizmi Engineering Journal, on the occasion of the journal’s inclusion in the Scopus database, one of the world’s most prestigious indexing platforms for peer-reviewed scientific journals.

In a speech during the ceremony, the President of the University of Baghdad, Prof.Dr. Bahaa Ibraheem Ansaf, expressed his pride in this achievement, describing it as a significant milestone in enhancing the university’s international academic standing. He praised the tremendous efforts made by the journal’s editorial board over the past years to elevate its scientific and editorial quality.

In turn , the Dean of the Al-Khwarizmi College of Engineering, Prof.Dr. Wadoud Taher Mohammed, affirmed that the journal’s inclusion in Scopus is the result of collective efforts and continuous work to implement the highest standards of scientific publishing. He noted that this achievement will open new horizons for research collaboration and academic publishing with prestigious international institutions.

Meanwhile, the Editor-in-Chief of the journal, Prof.Dr. Mohammed Al-Sarraj, emphasized that the journal’s entry into Scopus was not a matter of coincidence, but rather the outcome of a strict commitment to rigorous academic publishing standards and a continuous effort to enhance the quality of research and the credibility of the peer-review process.
The event included the presentation of honorary shields to the editorial board and staff of the journal, as well as a documentary presentation chronicling the journal’s journey and development from its establishment to its recognition on the international stage.

This event contributes to the realization of two Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): Goal 4, Quality Education, and Goal 17 – Partnerships for the Goals.
