The University of Baghdad launched the activities of its annual music festival for university students, considered one of the prominent cultural and artistic events organized by the institution. The festival was arranged by the Student Activities Department under the supervision of the department’s director, Dr. Ali Sadiq Diyab, and the head of the Artistic and Cultural Activities Division, Dr. Abdul Hakim Jassim.

The festival aimed to discover and encourage student talents, promote cultural and artistic interaction among university students, and enrich the cultural life of the institution. It provided students with an opportunity to express their talents and showcase them to the audience, fostering creativity and motivating participation in cultural and artistic activities.

The event featured a variety of musical and singing performances, including solo and group instrumentals, individual and collective singing, renditions of musical pieces from Iraqi heritage, and modern compositions reflecting the evolving music scene.

The director of the Student Activities Department emphasized the importance of holding such festivals to preserve the authenticity of Iraqi musical and singing heritage. He noted that the festival serves as a platform for students to showcase their talents and develop their artistic abilities, praising the outstanding contributions that reflect Iraq’s diverse cultural and musical landscape.

The festival witnessed wide participation from talented university students in music, singing, and instrumental performance, as well as collaborative performances as musical ensembles, delivering remarkable presentations that captivated and impressed the audience.

This initiative aligns with Sustainable Development Goal 4, which advocates for quality education, as well as Goal 17, which focuses on partnerships for achieving shared objectives.
