The Iraqi Hockey Federation, under the supervision of the Asian Hockey Federation, organized a training and refereeing course at the fields and halls of the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at the University of Baghdad, with the attendance of the College Dean, Prof.Dr. Sabah Qasim Khalaf. The course was conducted by a number of international lecturers from the Sultanate of Oman, including Thani bin Suhaim Al-Wuhaibi and Khalid bin Abdulrahman Yahya.
The course included both theoretical and scientific explanations about the sport of hockey, its history, and its origins. For his part, the Dean affirmed that the college’s facilities are open to sports federations for holding training courses and events. This course supports one of the Sustainable Development Goals, Goal 17,which emphasizes the importance of partnerships in achieving development objectives.
