Prof.Dr. Sabah Qasim Khalaf, Dean of the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at the University of Baghdad, received the President of the Iraqi Football Association, Captain Adnan Dirjal, to discuss the “Dream Project.” The visit was accompanied by Dr. Wissam Najeeb Sliwa, Head of the Technical Committee of the Association, Mr. Hassan Hassan, Representative of the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA), and Mr. Carlos Rodríguez, Executive Director of the Dream Project.
A field tour was conducted to explore the implementation of the Dream Project, which targets youth categories and is affiliated with the Iraqi Football Association. The visit focused on assessing how the college’s existing infrastructure ,such as its fields and halls can support the project. The initiative is expected to bring about a qualitative leap in the technical development of future football players, while also utilizing the expertise of the college’s academic staff to supervise its execution.
This visit supports one of the Sustainable Development Goals, Goal 17,which calls for partnerships to achieve the goals.
