Dr. Wissam Jassim Al-Wajdi, Assistant Director of the Department of Divan Affairs and Lecturer in the Department of Reconstruction and Projects at the University of Baghdad, has received a certificate of appreciation from the internationally renowned Journal of Alloys and Compounds, published in the Netherlands by the prestigious Elsevier publishing house. The journal is classified as Q1 in the field of Materials Engineering.

This recognition comes in acknowledgment of Dr. Al-Wajdi’s active contributions in reviewing seventy scientific research papers for the journal, highlighting his ongoing efforts to support scientific research and peer review within his area of expertise.

The Journal of Alloys and Compounds is one of the leading scientific journals in the field of Materials Engineering, boasting an Impact Factor of 6.371 and a CiteScore of 9.6—figures that reflect its high standing in the global academic and research community. This achievement marks a significant addition to the academic accomplishments of the faculty at the University of Baghdad, demonstrating their continued commitment to advancing scientific research at both the national and international levels.

The recognition also contributes to the realization of Sustainable Development Goal 4, which promotes quality education, as well as Goal 17, which emphasizes partnerships to achieve development goals.
