The Department of Journalism at the College of Mass Communication, University of Baghdad, organized an academic field visit for third-year students to the Digital Data Center of the General Secretariat of the Iraqi Council of Ministers. The visit aimed to strengthen the practical aspect of students’ education and familiarize them with the latest technologies in digital transformation and electronic services.
The visit was supervised by Dr. Noah Al-Din, and the delegation was received by the team of the “Ur Platform,” who provided a comprehensive overview of the platform’s operations and its role in delivering electronic services to citizens and promoting integration among state institutions.
During the visit, Mr. Mazin Jassim, Chief Programmer at the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers, highlighted the importance of digital data in enhancing government performance and achieving institutional integration. He emphasized the role of technology in streamlining procedures and reducing administrative bureaucracy. Engineer Mustafa, Project Manager of the Ur Platform, also gave a detailed presentation on the platform’s operations and its management of e-services. He explained that digital transformation contributes to improving government efficiency and ensuring transparency in service delivery.
This visit reflects the Department of Journalism’s commitment to connecting academic study with real-world applications, providing students with insights into the latest developments in digital government operations and enhancing their understanding of the mechanisms behind public sector digitalization.
The visit supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 4: Quality Education and Goal 17: Partnerships for the Goals.
