Prof.Dr. Sabah Munfi Ridha, Dean of the College of Administration and Economics at the University of Baghdad, received a delegation from the Baghdad Chamber of Commerce headed by Mr. Raad Kazem Al-Buraij, Vice President of the Chamber. The delegation also included Mr. Khalid Al-Wali, Advisor to the Chamber; Ms. Suhair Issa Al-Jubouri, Director of the Entrepreneurship Department; Ms. Muntaha Turki Al-Shammari, Director of Feasibility Studies; and Ms. Dima Adnan Qasim from the Entrepreneurship Department.

During the meeting, both parties agreed to establish cooperation between the college and the Chamber of Commerce to organize workshops and lectures by college professors for Chamber staff, merchants, and project owners. The aim is to contribute to improving the economic landscape. The collaboration seeks to strengthen academic and practical ties between the two institutions and support efforts to develop Iraq’s economy and stimulate economic growth.

The agreement includes the exchange of knowledge and expertise. The college will provide academic and research consultations to the Chamber, while the Chamber will offer internship opportunities for students and graduates within companies and commercial institutions. Additionally, the two parties will organize training workshops and courses to enhance the skills of private sector employees and better prepare students and graduates to meet labor market demands. The Chamber will also offer technical and advisory support to young entrepreneurs interested in launching small and medium-sized enterprises.

Prof.Dr. Sabah Munfi Ridha emphasized that the agreement reflects the college’s ongoing commitment to strengthening its relationship with the private sector and enhancing its role in serving the community. He added that “this agreement will open new horizons for constructive collaboration.”

This agreement represents a significant step toward enhancing cooperation between academic institutions and the private sector in support of Iraq’s economic interests. In the coming period, several joint initiatives are expected to be implemented, including a scientific seminar organized by Chamber members for college students on the process of establishing companies.

This meeting supports Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), specifically Goal 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, and Goal 17: Partnerships for the Goals.
