The College of Medicine at the University of Baghdad earned three awards for patents in the field of microscopic brain surgery and radio surgery using the Gamma Knife. These patents were presented by Assistant Professor Dr. Munir Khamees Faraj during his participation in the 5th International Middle East Invention Exhibition held in Kuwait.

The achievement of these awards, in competition with 180 inventors representing 62 Arab and foreign countries, marks a new milestone for the College of Medicine at the University of Baghdad. It reflects the academic rigor of its output, the competence of its faculty members, and the significant contributions the College continues to make in its field, competing alongside major international institutions. This success raises the Iraqi flag and the emblem of Baghdad Medicine to stand alongside the achievements of global academia, leaving a lasting impact and a mark that time cannot erase.

This activity aligns with two of the Sustainable Development Goals: the fourth goal, which advocates quality education, and the seventeenth goal, which calls for partnerships to achieve the goals.
