The General Secretariat of the Central Library at the University of Baghdad organized a workshop titled “Fire Safety in the Central Library”, presented by Dr. Ali Hussein Hadi and Assist.Lecturer Zahraa Hameed Qasim.
The workshop aimed to provide participants with essential knowledge on fire prevention and response, as well as the proper use of fire-fighting equipment. It covered key topics, including fire elements, causes, classifications, and extinguishing methods, in addition to a practical training session on the use of fire extinguishers, alarm systems, and emergency procedures such as the RACE strategy.
Furthermore, the workshop emphasized workplace safety, risk identification, and preventive measures to promote a culture of preparedness and safety across different environments.
In conclusion, an on-site evaluation of safety and evacuation procedures was conducted within the General Secretariat of the Central Library to enhance protection measures and improve workplace security.
This workshop aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 17, which advocates for partnerships to achieve sustainable objectives.
