The team of the College of Law – University of Baghdad participated in the public pleadings competitions within the international commercial arbitration competition – in English – for the Asia-Pacific continent, organized by the Borneo International Center for Arbitration and Mediation, with the participation of 140 universities from around the world.
In the first round, the team faced Peking University of China as a controlling party against them, where they put in an outstanding and honorable performance that was praised and appreciated, reflecting the level of preparation and legal skills possessed by the team.
The team is represented in this competition by the students of the second stage at the college: Hassan Qassem Fadel, Mustafa Wahab, Heba Ali Muhammad, and Rania Ali Yassin, who is scheduled to continue the team to play pleadings this week.
This participation achieves one of the sustainable development goals represented by the ninth and sixteenth goals, which call for industry, innovation, and infrastructure as well as peace, justice, and strong institutions.
