An academic delegation from the University of Baghdad, headed by the Assistant President for Scientific Affairs, Prof. Dr. Suhail Najm Abdullah, accompanied by a number of deans of colleges at the university, visited Sanati Sharif University of Iran to discuss the prospects of academic and scientific cooperation between the two universities.

The visit also aimed at cooperation in the field of establishing a science park at the University of Baghdad (Science Park), as a memorandum of understanding was signed between the two sides, which included cooperation in the field of establishing a scientific park as well as exchanging experiences and promoting scientific research and innovation.

The Assistant President for Scientific Affairs indicated that this step comes within the university’s vision to establish scientific parks that provide an integrated environment to support researchers and students and contribute to enhancing communication with research and scientific institutions at the regional and international levels, as well as marketing scientific products in a way that enhances the labor market to develop the private sector.

The delegation included the Dean of the College of Engineering, the Dean of the College of Engineering Al-Khwarizmi, the Dean of the College of Agricultural Engineering Sciences, the Dean of the College of Law, the Dean of the College of Science, and the Dean of the College of Pharmacy.

Iran’s Sanati Sharif University is one of the leading universities in international rankings, as it obtained the Shanghai classification in 11 scientific disciplines, and also ranks high in the Times World Ranking.

This cooperation achieves one of the sustainable development goals represented by the seventeenth goal, which calls for partnership to achieve the goals.
