The College of Islamic Sciences organized an intensive awareness campaign to combat drug abuse, with the attendance of Prof.Dr. Arkan Rahim Jaber, the Administrative Assistant at the College, along with the heads of academic departments, a large number of faculty members, and students. This initiative is a commendable step aimed at protecting youth and society from the dangers of drugs.
The campaign included several important activities that contributed to delivering the message of awareness regarding the dimensions of this issue and the necessity of confronting it.
The campaign hosted media figure Tamam Abdul Hameed, who gave a lecture on the dangers of drugs, their various types, and their devastating impacts on individuals and society. The lecturer also discussed the factors that drive young people to abuse drugs and ways to prevent it, emphasizing the crucial role of the family and society in protecting youth from this threat.
Additionally, the campaign featured an impactful theatrical performance directed by the talented Qahtan Al-Sudani, with a cast of skilled actors. The performance depicted the harsh reality faced by addicts and their families, highlighting how drugs destroy lives and tear apart families.
This campaign contributes to achieving one of the Sustainable Development Goals, specifically Goal 3, which calls for ensuring healthy lives and promoting well-being for all at all ages.
