The lecturer at the College of Engineering, Department of Water Resources Engineering, was accompanied by Prof. Dr. Mahmoud Saleh Al-Khafaji, Advisor to the Prime Minister for Scientific and Academic Affairs and Artificial Intelligence, on a visit to the Public Authority for Groundwater, Professor Diaa Al-Jumaili, within the framework of supporting and developing artificial intelligence applications in smart water resources management.
The visit aimed to review the efforts and plans implemented by the authority in the field of monitoring and surveillance, as well as build databases that support the authority’s plans in artificial intelligence applications that contribute to the monitoring and management of groundwater.
The visit included a discussion on how to integrate these applications with surface water resources to achieve integrated water resources management, which is the goal that the Ministry of Water Resources seeks to achieve within the framework of its future strategies.
This workshop achieves one of the sustainable development goals represented by the fourteenth goal, which calls for life underwater.
